Hon Tjorn Sibma MLC
Shadow Minister for Ports; Government Accountability and Procurement; Public Sector Integrity and Performance; Assisting the Leader for Public Sector Management; Veterans Issues
Member for the North Metropolitan Region
Tjorn Sibma was born and raised in Carine and has lived and worked in Perth’s northern suburbs for over 25 years. He was elected to Parliament at the 2017 State Election.
Tjorn has a well rounded professional background. As a defence analyst he served as a cease fire monitor on Bougainville Island, and helped to establish the East Timor Defence Force in time for East Timor's independence.
He also brings to the table a strong track record in both State and Commonwealth policy-making and past experience in executive roles in the mining, property and higher education sectors.
As a committed supporter of the mining and petroleum sectors and an advocate for Western Australia’s defence industry, higher education and tech sectors, Tjorn believes that despite current economic challenges, Western Australia's best days lie ahead of it.
