In 1986 The 500 Club was formed in Perth with Mr Terry Jackson as the inaugural Chairman.
The object was to bring together leaders of the business and professional community in the interests of promoting Liberal philosophy. There is undoubtedly a need for the business and professional community to develop a rapport with Liberal politicians at both State and Federal level, to ensure that the Party and its politicians are in touch with the views of its supporters; and that its supporters can communicate easily with Shadow Ministers and Members of Parliament.
Speakers at functions will be chosen from senior politicians from around the world, leading business people, prominent citizens, be it sport, culture or whatever. An interesting forum is undoubtedly a fertile scene for our members to mix with our politicians. There will also be other benefits in the cross-fertilisation which will occur between business people meeting at The 500 Club functions.
